Haunted Mansion Movie Night & Themed Party Snacks
“Welcome, foolish mortal, to the Haunted Mansion.”
Looking to have a spooky movie night as a family? One of our favorite spooky movies is Disney’s Haunted Mansion (2023).

This movie is inspired by “The Haunted Mansion” ride that can be found at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and Tokyo Disneyland.
The movie is rated PG-13, so be sure to research if it is the right movie for your family to enjoy together. If not, adapt the items below to align with a more appropriate movie.
The Menu
To make the movie night extra special, I created a delicious themed food bar, which we enjoyed before and during the movie. Here are some of the delicious foods we had.
Scary Sammies, Chips & Dip
I placed turkey, cheese, and French bread on a tray so we could make mini sandwiches. Chips and dip were also served with the sammies.
Petrifying Pizza Rolls
I used the recipe shared by @Macy.Blackwell on Instagram to make pizza rolls with a little pizazz.
Macy Blackwell’s Garlic Parm Pizza Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 bag frozen pizza rolls
- 1 stick melted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- fresh parsley (chopped)
Directions:
- Mix together butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese.
- Pour over pizza rolls (in a bowl) and toss to coat.
- Bake according to directions.
- Sprinkle a little extra parmesan and fresh parsley.
- Serve with ranch or marinara for dipping.
Vicious Veggies with Ranch Dip in a Jack-o’-lantern Pepper
I served veggies with the creamiest ranch dip. I displayed the dip in an orange bell pepper that I carved to look like a mini jack-o-lantern.
Ranch Dip Recipe
Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
Directions:
- Combine all three ingredients together until fully mixed.
- Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
Frightening Fruit with Dip
The fruit with dip was a delicious addition to dessert. I make my own fruit dip using the following recipe.
Fruit Dip Recipe
Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 3.4 oz box cheesecake pudding mix (dry) *vanilla pudding mix can be substituted
- 1 cup vanilla creamer
Directions:
- Place softened cream cheese in a bowl and mix until smooth.
- Add the dry cheesecake pudding mix to the cream cheese and combine fully.
- Add the vanilla creamer to the cream cheese mixture.
Dirt Dessert Graveyard
One of our favorite desserts was a perfect addition to our theme. I made a dirt dessert graveyard by printing out mini headstones. I taped toothpicks to the back of the headstones and then stuck them in the top of the trifle bowl with gummy worms as decorations.
Dirt Dessert Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- 2 packages (3.4 oz) Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding
- 1 package Oreo cookies
- 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
- 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 8 oz Cool Whip (thawed in refrigerator)
- Accessories for the top, such as gummy worms, candy pumpkins, gravestone cutouts, flowers, etc.
Directions:
- Crush the Oreos. This can be done in a food processor or by placing the cookies in a plastic bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the milk and packages of pudding. Place in refrigerator to set.
- Using a mixer, cream together the butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Add in powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
- Add pudding and mix on low until combined.
- Fold in Cool Whip until fully combined.
- Spread 2 cups of the pudding mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish.
- Sprinkle some of the crushed Oreos on top evenly to cover the pudding in the trifle.
- Repeat pudding, then Oreo cookie layer until the ingredients are gone. Be sure to finish with an Oreo layer on top.
- Add accessories to the top, such as gummy worms, candy pumpkins, gravestone cutouts, flowers, etc.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Creepy Candy-cuterie Board
A movie isn’t complete without a sweet candy treat. I displayed some of our favorite mini candies and brownie bites on a tray with our skeleton friend, Mr. Bones.
Our beverage of choice for the evening…Haunted Mansion Mocktails
I used Sprite, lemonade, and grape juice bat-cubes to build our delicious movie inspired mocktails. I served our drinks in plastic “wine glasses,” added plastic spider rings to the stem of the glasses, and garnished them with the grape bat-cubes and gummy worms.
The portions of Sprite and lemonade to create the drink are strictly based on your tastes. Some of us had more lemonade than Sprite and vice versa.
To make the bat-cubes, I bought a silicone mold of small bats at Walmart and filled the bats with grape juice. I allowed the juice to freeze for a few hours into bat shaped “ice cubes.”
Tablescape and Decor
The decor I used for the party is comprised mostly of Halloween items I already owned. I added to it by using the following resources to make our tablescape more in line with our Haunted Mansion theme.
Welcome Foolish Mortals Sign

Madame Leota Printable
I printed this Madame Leota picture, cut it out, and slid it into a clear plastic ornament. I then placed it in the center of the table and surrounded it with flameless battery powered candles.
Stretching Portrait Printable
I cut the stretching portrait printables out and placed them around the items on the table to connect to the stretching portraits found on the Haunted Mansion Ride at Disney.
Movie nights are a relaxing way to snuggle, connect, and make memories as a family. I love adding details that align with the movie or theme to make it that much more special.
